ASCA tours commenced in 1990 with a successful series against New Zealand, this was to be the start of the rebirth of services cricket. Tours to England in 1993, South Africa 1997, England 2005 and the introduction of the International Defence Cricket Challenge (IDCC) in 2007.
A successful tour or home land challenge requires dedication from the organising committees and host nation, the touring parties and a commitment from players and officials. Sponsors have played a huge role in the recent success of IDCC held in Canberra November 2007.
IDCC 2007 comprised of three teams from England, two from New Zealand and the three services from within Australia. A fourth Presidents XI was formed from players of the three services to alleviate a bye for the carnival.

IDCC 2009  saw the emergence of Malaysia into the IDCC ranks and again with New Zealand the carnival began with the introduction of Twenty/20. Both forms of the modern era in cricket where played for points that lead to our grand finalist. Malaysia dominated the grand final and becoming IDCC 2009 champions. Such was the greatness of the competition and the excellent organisation, the invitation to host IDCC 2011 in Malaysia was extended.
